Wed. September 22nd Alliance Meeting

While California's per capita energy consumption has remained flat for over a decade, overall consumption of energy has been rising. And GHG emissions have been rising despite the nation's most aggressive renewable energy laws. The question many are now asking is: can California reduce overall energy use?

The Local Clean Energy Alliance is partnering with TURN (The Utility Reform Network) on a campaign that promotes  policies that will reduce overall energy consumption and save California businesses and residents $$$.

The Alliance has monthly meetings. For the next several months, we will explore various energy efficiency and conservation policies.  The next meeting is scheduled for September 22, 2010 and will be organized around a panel discussion relating to various components of the campaign. Panelists include:

  • Mark Toney, Executive Director of TURN, on public administration of monies collected on utility bills for energy
  • Neal DeSnoo, Manager, Energy and Sustainable Development Division, City of Berkeley, on point of sale ordinances that mandate energy and water efficiency upgrades

We will also cover On-Bill Financing. Please join us!
