Talk on Integrating Workforce Development and Local Hire into Solar Projects

Join us for a conversation with Joshua Arce, Executive Director of the Brightline Defense Project, about lessons learned around integrating workforce development into solar efforts in the Bayview and local hire requirements for the new solar project in SF.

The LCEA has open meetings on the second Thursday of every month, featuring informative speakers on renewable energy, energy efficiency, and related efforts. The next meeting of Alliance is July 9th at 6 pm and will feature a special presentation from the Brightline Defense Project's (BDP) Joshua Arce.

Recently, BDP along with other Environmental justice and community development activists successfully advocated for a requirement that the Sunset Reservoir solar project's workforce be made up of at least thirty percent economically disadvantaged residents of the City's most underserved communities.  A recent article highlighting this effort: State's Largest Solar Project Will Create Green Jobs For Underserved San Franciscans Starting In July.
