Thanks to the efforts of steering committee members, organizational members and volunteers, the Local Clean Energy Alliance played a key role in defeating Prop 16. Among other things, the Alliance:
- Organized the meeting at which the statewide PAC was formed
- Convened the Clean Power Healthy Communities conference at which the Prop 16 Regional Working group was formed
- Convened and co-chaired the weekly conference calls for the Prop 16 Regional Working group
- Organized the March 17th rally at the CPUC
- Vetted endorsements of the No on Prop 16 position
- Secured dozens of endorsements including Senator Hancock
- Created, distributed, and promoted the Films of www.NoProp16films.org
- Convened the May Final Push Organizing meeting that brought together 25 advocates that had never been in the same room
- Co-convened the May 25th Unity rally
- Testified at the March 7th, May 20th, and June 7th CPUC hearings
- Gave community education presentations to organizations
- Put up signs in Oakland and Berkeley
- Organized two phone banking sessions at our office (40 person-hours)
- Wrote and got posted blog articles on Sustainablog, Ella Baker Center, and Oakland Local
- Got Oakland, Berkeley, and Richmond to pass resolutions against Prop 16
- Maintained an informative No on Prop 16 web presence at our site
- Promoted No on 16 through Facebook and Twitter
- Appeared on two radio interviews
