100% NGO Network Visited LCEA

The Local Clean Energy Alliance (LCEA) received assistance from the 100% NGO Network a fiscally-sponsored project of Movement Strategies Center to host and organize a field trip to the East Bay of approximately 25 representatives of member organizations of the 100% NGO Network.  The 100% NGO Network is National effort for organizations working towards 100% Clean Energy campaigns and/or inspiring new 100% campaigns lead by frontline leaders in environmental justice communities.

Local Clean Energy Alliance hosted a welcome dinner to field-trip participants on February 27 and to host a day of presentations, panels, and discussions on March 1 to highlight the work of the LCEA in establishing East Bay Community Energy -- a new Community Choice energy program in Alameda County -- and the work of organizations allied with the LCEA in our mutual efforts to democratize energy resources in the East Bay.  Speakers included leaders from Communities for a Better Environment, New Voices are Rising, California Nurses Association and the Oakland Climate Action Coalition which are part of the East Bay Clean Power Alliance efforts which continue to call for implementing a Local Development Business Plan (LDBP) which is a green new deal for Alameda County through East Bay Community Energy.

The field trip concluded with a social hour and dinner party at Everett & Jones BBQ in Jack London Square.
