The Local Clean Energy Alliance has joined the Call to Action for Energy Democracy initiated by Solar Done Right, an advocacy organization devoted to protecting desert ecology and promoting local renewable electricity generation.
The call is meant to bring citizens together to demand a more cost-effective, faster, less damaging, and more democratic path to renewable energy. The goal is to move renewable energy development away from our ecologically rich public lands and onto rooftops and already-developed areas.
We encourage you to individually join the call, as well, at solardoneright.org and to reach out to organizations you know—civic, social, municipal, charity, religious—that might also sign on. Also, at that link you will find briefings and information about why our current renewable energy policy is on the wrong path and how we can do solar right.
